Mississippi is the state I love and call my temporary home...
We are just travelers on a journey with a goal to keep on traveling on... "

But Mississippi has so many wonderful things.. ...
Walking through the hollow I make it to the pond where bream are ready for young boy or girl to catch..
My brother has traveled on but I used to help mama with him...
From the pond I see a dish water colored blonde headed young boy with the blue eyes that sparkled with a big mouth toothy grin...
He caught several perch and even learned to cleaned them...
Near the pond was an old basketball goal and sometimes in free time we played for a long time in humid conditions in this June heat with the sweat pouring off of us...
In Mississippi .. In the June afternoon we got to swimming the creek... The water was cold and would revived us to a level that was very tired to like Wow we are awake... I missed seeing my family swimming as daddy jumped in and always said,"this water is cold," and then he was laughing.. My mama floated on top of the water and her hair was the color of chestnut and she floated in a cotton print ivory veil dress .. My brothers had cut off jeans.. I had shorts and shirt on.. ... No need for swimming clothes like bathing suits...sometimes you could see a fish jumping out of the water ... Honeysuckles in pink and white in color were beside the creek hanging over the water.. The sweet smell was lingering in the woods...
We came home after the swim and got under a water hose and bathed with ivory soap ..
Mama always had supper done with some awesome cooking.. The smell of cornbread smelled the country shack with the thought of love of my mama to cook like she did for us...
... In a distance today most likely it's going to rain..
I love the rain and sunshine..
Joy truly came to me today...
Keep on the sunny side.. God loves you and me.. Do something today for yourself but pass the kindness along the way with perhaps a piece of homemade cornbread..
Love my state of Mississippi and all the good people.. It's Cathead biscuit time with blackberry jelly.. My favorite.
